Style your kitchen pantry on a budget

19 Sep 2016

Be inspired today and give your kitchen pantry a complete facelift with some trendy design.

We were able to maximise the space in this kitchen pantry by streamlining and keeping things consistent.

We sourced everything from The Reject Shop and even better we stayed within our allocated budget! We picked up these spacious bamboo trays, stylish Lazy Susan’s, mini containers for spice storage and clear canisters. You don’t need to compromise your budget when you can pick up a great bargain from variety discount stores like The Reject Shop!

1. SETUP YOUR NEW SYSTEM ALONG THE KITCHEN BENCH

The first step to organising your kitchen pantry is to place your new setup along your kitchen benches and begin by storing each item into your new storage system and at the same time don’t forget to check the expiry dates!

2. CHECK DUE BY DATES

Dispose of everything past it’s due by date and any other items you know you never use.

3. GROUP ITEMS INTO CATEGORIES

We began by categorising all the tea and coffee items into one tray, followed by baking items, seasoning, sauces, pasta, rice, legumes, spreads and so on.

4. POSITION LARGER ITEMS AT THE BACK

When placing these items situate the larger items at the back of the tray so you can easily identify everything. We then placed all of the bottles such as soy sauce, oil and spices on a Lazy Susan as these items were used on a regular basis.

5. GIVE THE SHELVES A GOOD WIPE DOWN

Before placing everything back in the pantry make sure you give the shelves a good wipe down.

You'll be surprised how much you can fit into each tray or container when you have a system setup. It’s also important to consider your lifestyle and then positioning each item in a functional and practical way to suit your own personal and family needs.

For instance, if your not much of a tea or coffee drinker and only use these items when you have visitors coming over then place these items at the top of the shelf. Place your highly used items such as sauces, spices and oil at arm's length making it more convenient for you. Setting up simple systems like this will make it so much easier for you to maintain and stay organised.

It's important to find a system that works for you. That’s why as part of our professional organising service we customise a tailored plan to suit your specific needs and requirements, as we know not one kitchen pantry is the same.
